Cha-Ching reaches 2 million students globally, promoting financial literacy and building financial resilience in communities
Cha-Ching, the award-winning financial literacy programme for children, has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 2 million students globally through its curriculum. This achievement marks a major step forward in the programme’s mission to educate young children with financial knowledge and demonstrates Prudence Foundation (PF)’s commitment to helping communities build financial resilience.
To celebrate reaching this milestone, Prudence Foundation has created a video film series about the journey of Cha-Ching’s impact to date, particularly through the lens of beneficiaries and programme stakeholders. The series also looks beyond, sharing hopes for the future of the programme. You can watch the film below or on Prudence Foundation’s YouTube channel.

Launched in 2011 by Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, Cha-Ching has grown exponentially, offering engaging and educational content through animated videos, games, and interactive activities. The programme aims to teach children four fundamental concepts around money: Earn, Save, Spend and Donate.
"We are thrilled to see Cha-Ching reach this incredible milestone,” said Diana Guzman, Chair of Prudence Foundation. “Our goal has always been to empower children with the knowledge and skills they need to make smart financial decisions. To date, more than 2 million students have been reached across 16 markets, and this is a testament to the programme’s impact and the importance of financial education."
In 2021, the Cha-Ching programme and the impact of the curriculum was reviewed in full by Dr. Adele Atkinson, who concluded that Cha-Ching effectively improves the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of students who partake in the programme.
Cha-Ching’s success can be attributed to its engaging approach, which combines entertainment with education. The programme’s characters and storylines resonate with children, making learning about money both enjoyable and accessible. One of the programme’s key assets is the e-learning game, Cha-Ching Money Adventures, which helps kids learn key money concepts in a fun and engaging way. This game has been shown to positively impact children’s knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours towards financial literacy.
Our volunteers and 66,000 trained teachers have brought the Cha-Ching curriculum to students in classrooms. “Teachers are the cornerstone of the curriculum’s success and the improved learning of students, essential for building a financially literate future generation,” said Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director of the Prudence Foundation.
Partnerships have also been crucial to making Cha-Ching a success. Key partners include our implementation partners, Junior Achievement Asia and Africa, Cartoon Network; Emmy Award winning children education specialist Dr. Alice Wilder; and local government ministries, which help facilitate the implementation of the programme and curriculum. These collaborations have significantly expanded Cha-Ching’s reach and impact.
As Cha-Ching continues to grow, the programme remains committed to its mission of fostering financial literacy and helping communities build financial resilience.
